For the additional benefit of turning voice messages into readable text messages, you can enable a variety of TTY modes on your phone:
- TTY Full: Allows all parties on the call to communicate via TTY messages.
- TTY VCO: Allows hearing-impaired users to communicate verbally, while verbal communications from the other party appear as text on the TTY display.
- TTY HCO: Allows users to receive verbal communications from the other party, but sends TTY messages to other parties on the call.
To activate TTY on your device, follow these steps:
- From the main screen, tap the "Phone" icon.
- Tap the "More" icon, indicated by 3 vertical dots.
- Tap "Settings."
- If necessary, tap "Other call settings" or "Accessibility."
- Tap "TTY mode." Then, tap the desired TTY mode.
- Note: This information may not apply to all devices. To find out if you can use TTY with your device and service plan, check with your carrier.
